Pantelleria

Pantelleria is an island located in the middle of Mediterranean sea and due to it's position, the island played a major role in the history of mediterranean trade.
The numerous archaeological sites and finds over there are the best proof of the island's rich history.
Pantelleria has numerous beaches, some of them are the most beautiful in Italy, such as Arco dell'Elefante and Balata dei Turchi.
Being an island of volcanic origin, you can experience many incredible and unusal views and landscapes in different parts of the territory: huge natural reserve in the center of the island, beautiful lake formed in an extinct volcanic crater called as "Venus mirror", fascinating water vapor spills and more.
Moreover, the famous buildings called Dammuso need to be mentioned. Ancient dwellings characterized by dome roofs and thick walls made from local lava stones are still used today as holiday homes and apartments for tourists.
